Pricing and Payment Terms at Bay Vets Referrals

You will have been given an estimate of costs upon us arranging your pet’s referral. A full price list is also available below.

Our payment terms are that this amount is payable- in full – at the time of treatment.

This means you are required to pay when you attend with your pet. We may request 50% of your estimated cost at admission of your pet, and the remainder to be paid upon collection.

We accept cash, BACS and all major debit & credit cards (excluding American Express).

We are unable to offer payment plans.

For insured pets, if you wish for us to assist your claim, please bring with you your policy details (name of policy holder, address, animal details on record, policy number) and a signed claim form also. We can submit the claim form on your behalf and the insurers will reimburse you directly.

Occasionally, it is appropriate for a direct claim to be organised. This is only considered for estimates over £500. The process is time-consuming and may delay surgery or treatment for your pet.

  • Direct claims must be arranged in advance, prior to your appointment.

To be able to organise a direct claim, we require the insurance provider to offer a pre-authorisation service. Please note, not all providers do so.

You will need to grant permission to your insurance company to share the details of your policy with us at Bay Vets Referrals.

  • We charge a non-refundable administration fee of £26.50 (most insurance companies will not cover this; you will be liable for the charge).
  • According to your policy, you will still be required to pay your excess, any co-payments and all costs associated with any excluded treatments or those exceeding any limits applied to your policy by the insurers.
  • Should the insurance provider decline the claim, you are responsible – in full – for the costs. Upon signing the consent form, you accept liability for all costs associated with your pet’s treatment.
  • If it appears unlikely that your insurance policy will cover the claim, we reserve the right to decline to organise a direct claim.
